Albertsons shared this information with us when we asked about their ex-offender hiring policy:
“Albertsons LLC conducts criminal background checks as part of our normal hiring practices. Each job offer is conditional on the completion of this background check and the background of each job applicant will be considered on a case-by-case basis. All applications are accepted online via links to online application systemswww.albertsons.com.“
Your answer does a couple of things. First, answer the background check question. It also tells us that each candidate is considered individually.
However, it doesn't directly address whether or not they hire criminals. So let's move on to the next question...
Has Albertsons hired criminals in the past?
This is a key question for anyone considering applying for a job at an Albertsons store. Fortunately, the answer to this question is a resounding yes. We cannot guarantee that all locations are open for criminal hiring, but we can confirm that some stores are already doing so.

Those of you with a misdemeanor may be wondering if Albertsons will hire you for a misdemeanor. Generally, if a company is willing to hire ex-offenders, it is also willing to consider hiring those with minor crimes.

Unfortunately, we have found no direct connection between the Albertsons and any of these movements.
However, the fact that they have hired ex-criminals in the past shows that they are not completely opposed to the idea. Their statement also states that applications are considered "on a case-by-case basis," meaning they will consider you as an individual. Therefore, it should not be annulled because of your offense.
Does Albertsons have special programs to hire criminals?
Albertsons does not have a specific criminal hiring program. That doesn't mean they don't give criminals a chance. It just means that there is no program for that specific purpose.
What are the odds of someone with a crime getting hired?
After much research we have to admit that your chances of getting hired here are slim. We know that some places have hired ex-offenders in the past. However, we cannot guarantee that this will be the case in all locations. And certain crimes can work against you (we'll get to that in a moment).
We'll give you a few tips to help you get the most out of the application process. That way, if the store you sign up for is hiring ex-criminals, you're their first choice.

As previously mentioned, Albertsons is a large company with offices in 34 states. (Here is a map of the states where they have stores.). That means they need employees in all sorts of jobs, not just at the deli or drugstore at the local grocery store.
Here are some examples of the entry positions available:
- Cashier/Checker: Greet customers, check items and cashier.
- Department Clerk – Handles customer service for a department such as the Deli or Bakery.
- Stocker/Night Stocker: Ensures shelves are stocked and ready.
- Delivery man - drive a delivery truck and deliver groceries ordered online to your home.
- Warehouse Picker – Loads pallets of items to be delivered to local stores.
- Truck Driver - Drive tractor trailer loads from warehouses to local businesses.
Does that sound like jobs you can do? There will be on-the-job training so you don't have to worry about having a lot of experience. If you can work shifts, they will see it as an advantage.

If there is a distribution center near you, set one up there as well. It's better to launch multiple apps and decline offers than just launch one at a time.
Go all out when you get the interview
This is your chance to stand out from the crowd. Make sure you go into the interview with confidence. You likely have work experience related to the position you are applying for. Brag about this experience. Your job in the interview is to sell yourself as the best candidate.
Dealing with questions about your past
We are aware that Albertsons conducts background checks as part of the recruitment process. Therefore, it is very likely that they will ask you about your legal history. Be honest, but keep the conversation as prospective as possible. You're trying to get ahead and create a better future for yourself, and that's where this job comes in.

Half of those who left reviews said they would recommend the company to a friend.
What criminal convictions might make hiring here difficult?
Does Albertsons hire criminals? We know some places have done this in the past. However, as with any employer, there are certain beliefs that make it difficult to get a job here.
A record that directly impacts the work you want to get done will get in your way. For example:
- Theft if you apply for a job as a teller or stockbroker.
- A charge of assault or sex offense for those seeking a position in the business.
- Trip-related charges (e.g. DUI) for delivery driver or truck driver positions.
So before you apply for a job, make sure your paperwork isn't holding you back. If you can, try a position in a different department. They might like or switch in a few years.

Neither your website nor the job postings we saw directly answered this question. However, it is always safer to assume that an employer will conduct a drug test and act accordingly.
The last thing you want is for them to be willing to hire you and lose you because of your test scores!
